PADI Enriched Air Diver

PADI Enriched Air Diver

The PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty is our most popular specialty. Basically, if you are serious about your diving, then this specialty is a must do. Diving with enriched air, or nitrox for short, lets you safely extend your no stop time beyond the no decompression limits for air. Diving with enriched air means more time underwater, but you need to be certified as an Enriched Air Diver to get enriched air fills.

So if you are starting to run low on bottom time before you run low on air then this specialty is for you. Whether you’re into underwater photography or wreck diving, on holiday in some tropical paradise or just out for a leisurely day of diving at your local dive site, the PADI Enriched Air Diver certification helps you get more out of diving by allowing you more time underwater.

To Start

How do I get started?

As with all of the diving education programmes at Aquasport you start with the training materials. A deposit of £50 is required to book your PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty. We will provide you with the PADI Enriched Air Diver manual for you to read prior to the start of your training.

What will I do?

During your programme you will cover the following:

  • Plan and make no decompression dives using enriched air blends containing 22% to 40% oxygen, remaining within accepted dive table and oxygen exposure limits using tables and dive computers
  • Learn how to care for equipment used in enriched air diving
  • Learn how to avoid possible operational hazards and underwater hazards associated with oxygen

You will have one day of intense but enjoyable and rewarding enriched air diver training to complete. In our fully equipped multi-media classrooms you will learn how to deal with many different scenarios, from how to identify a cylinder used for enriched air, right up to how to analyse a specific enriched air mix.

How long will it take?

The PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty is a one day classroom based programme.

Where To?

Where can I go from here?

Once you have completed your PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty you have started down a road of discovery. Many wrecks are situated in deeper water so your next step may be the PADI Deep Diver Specialty and the PADI Wreck Diver Specialty.

Once you have completed five PADI specialties, the PADI Rescue Diver course and have 50 logged dives you hold all the prerequisites for the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification. This is the highest non-professional rating in the PADI system of diver education.

Here at Aquasport all of our Instructors hold this level of recreational certification. We recommend that every diver takes this route regardless of their further ambitions as we see it as a commitment to education and a real achievement.
