PADI Enriched Air Diver
The PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty is our most popular specialty. Basically, if you are serious about your diving, then this specialty is a must do. Diving with enriched air, or nitrox for short, lets you safely extend your no stop time beyond the no decompression limits for air. Diving with enriched air means more time underwater, but you need to be certified as an Enriched Air Diver to get enriched air fills.
So, if you are starting to run low on bottom time before you run low on air then this specialty is for you. Whether you’re into underwater photography or wreck diving, on holiday in some tropical paradise or just out for a leisurely day of diving at your local dive site, the PADI Enriched Air Diver certification helps you get more out of diving by allowing you more time underwater.
Minimum age: 12 years
Course prerequisites: PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver

During your programme you will:
- Plan and make no decompression dives using enriched air blends containing 22% to 40% oxygen, remaining within accepted dive table and oxygen exposure limits using tables and dive computers
- Learn how to care for equipment used in enriched air diving
- Learn how to avoid possible operational hazards and underwater hazards associated with oxygen

Where can I go from here?
Once you have completed your PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty you have opened up a whole new world of possibilities as you have extended your no stop dive time beyond the no decompression limits for air. The next step for you could be the PADI Deep Diver and PADI Wreck Diver Specialties so that you can make use of that extra bottom time. After some experience of using enriched air, you may also want to explore the dark world of tec diving.
Once you have completed five PADI specialties, the PADI Rescue Diver course and have 50 logged dives you hold all the prerequisites for the PADI Master Scuba Diver certification. This is the highest non-professional rating in the PADI system of diver education.
Here at Aquasport all our Instructors hold this level of recreational certification. We recommend that every diver takes this route regardless of their further ambitions as we see it as a commitment to education and a real achievement.
